We don’t get to see this yokai as the creators were too lazy to come up with a new design.

This second part of the movie was slightly better as we get to see a little bit more action as the horse yokai had abit of a short battle with the yokai that possessed the mc’s friend. The second part of the movie was about mc’s friend, the one whose father is the chief monk of a temple. has a slow pace to each episode, this part of the movie (if you can call this a movie, I will come to that later) was extremely draggy even by this series’s standards.

This part was boring given that most of the main series already Mc just ran around with the yokai looking for the other yokai’s location. The first part was about a yokai whom was tasked to wake another yokai up from his slumber. This two episodes felt like the mc is a side character whose presence makes no difference.

Minor spoilers in this review.Īnyone who has watched the main series Should know that the mc deals with yokais by returning them their names. I spent $13 watching this in the movies this evening (March 11 2021). Never misses the chance to make you mesmerized with its own world, characters and the story. Overall, natsume yuujinchou: Ishi Okoshi to Ayashiki Raihousha is another great movie which was nothing less expected from the franchise. Overall great stories, first story was a bit better.Īrtstyle remains almost the same, but nice tweaks have been applied. We saw more through misuzu, tanuma, and sasame, the neighbor/rival of misuzu. Second part was interesting in its own way and opened up the relationship between two And I always welcomed more hinoe screentime. Nice combination of comedy and heartwarming moments with a slight touch of drama. Now after almost 3 years of adaptation absence, Takashi-kun blessed us with a 2-parts movie this spring.įirst part is about helping mitsumi the Ishi-okoshi to do his quest. Manga has been ongoing since 2005, 6 seasons of anime adaptations, No 36th in NHK top 100 anime series, and doing very well in manga selling stats. It's no doubt that natsume yuujinchou was a booming iyashikei franchise. What is the truth of his sudden appearance and his connection with Tanuma? Despite trusting the youkai, Tanuma's health slowly begins to deteriorate, causing Natsume to become more suspicious of the interloper. Natsume soon discovers that the outsider is a youkai disguised as a human, who claims to bear no danger. In the subsequent days, the visitor briefly talks with Tanuma and leaves. One day, Natsume's friend Kaname Tanuma is visited by a strange man. However, time is running out-for they are not the only ones who want to awaken the divine being. Seeing how much Mitsumi wants to prove himself as Gantetsu's worthy servant, Natsume decides to help him fulfill his task. Mitsumi was entrusted by his leader Gantetsu, a powerful and strong ayakashi, to be the year's "Ishi Okoshi," whose role consists of waking him from his deep slumber. The actor guy - exorcist - lizard face, with the bad hat (Natori?) was in it too - but only long enough to advertise the same dodgy brand of (evidently crack-filled) chocolate that Sasada was pushing earlier - which was also the same chocolate that had caused the stupid kids to wander into the stupid forest in the first place. While searching for Nyanko-sensei, Takashi Natsume encounters meek and small-looking youkai Mitsumi. moments for all the gang as Natsume meets each one and asks the same question and gets the same answer: Tanuma (who's wandering through those woods again, he loves them woods), Taki and Sasada (the latter weirdly losing her sh*t over chocolate) and Natsume's school friends: the tall one, and the pervert. If you want a break from 'all the feels' you'll get it here your heart won't be broken by a lovesick yōkai turning into fireflies, but your ears may be broken by the combined wailing of two larval humans. This episode feels aimed at a much younger viewer, (like, *much* younger do sperm have televisions?) and relies on (a lot of) repetition and slapstick. I'd have given this twice as many points if Nyanko-sensei had eaten them. I like Natsume and love Nyanko-sensei, but this OVA lacked the traditional mellow, melancholic beauty of the series and replaced it with the exploits of two *epically* irritating children.
